Plain-language summary: we collect the information needed to run RideBid (your account, trips, and payments), we use trusted processors to handle it, and we don't sell your data.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, phone, optional photo, city, and bio.
  • Trip & booking data: routes, dates, prices, messages, offers, and reviews.
  • Payment data: handled by Stripe — we store only references (never your card or bank numbers).
  • Technical data: basic logs and device/browser info needed to operate and secure the service.

2. How we use it

To create your account, match riders and drivers, process payments and payouts, send you notifications about your trips, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service. We send transactional emails (e.g. booking and message alerts); you control most of these in-app.

3. Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers ("processors") to run RideBid:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing and driver payouts.
  • Resend — sending transactional email.
  • Vercel — hosting.

We share the minimum needed with the other party to a trip (e.g. first name, photo, and ride details). We do not sell your personal information.

4. Your choices & rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time, and request deletion of your account by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data.

5. Security & retention

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data and keep it only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
