1. About RideBid
RideBid ("RideBid", "we", "us") operates an online platform that lets drivers offer empty seats on trips they are already taking and lets passengers find and book those seats. RideBid is a neutral marketplace and booking facilitator. We do not own vehicles, employ drivers, or provide transportation. Any ride is a private arrangement between the driver and the passenger.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login secure. Drivers are responsible for holding a valid driver's licence, vehicle registration, and insurance that permits cost-sharing trips.
3. Bookings, prices & fees
Drivers set their own per-seat price. Passengers may book at that price or negotiate via offers. A flat per-seat booking fee is added at checkout and is RideBid's fee for operating the platform; the driver receives their full listed price. Payments are processed by Stripe; RideBid never stores your card details.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Passengers may cancel before a trip is completed; paid bookings are refunded to the original payment method. If a driver cancels a trip with confirmed bookings, affected passengers are refunded. See our Help page for the full cancellation policy.
5. Conduct & safety
You agree to treat other members with respect, provide accurate trip information, and not use RideBid for any unlawful purpose. RideBid does not conduct background checks or verify the identity, licence, or insurance of members unless explicitly stated. You ride at your own risk and should use common-sense safety precautions. Members can report problems or no-shows from the booking page; RideBid may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the platform or repeatedly fail to honour bookings.
6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
RideBid is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Because rides are arranged between private individuals, RideBid is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any driver or passenger, the condition or safety of any vehicle, or any loss, injury, or damage arising from a ride. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RideBid's total liability to you is limited to the booking fees you paid to RideBid in the prior 12 months.
7. Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
